Le CD Jean Lapouge/Kent Carter est l’exacte copie des enregistrements réalisés dans le studio de Kent, en décembre 1994. J’en raconte la genèse et plus… dans un texte édité au format PDF A5 (lecture double page conseillée). Ce texte se dénomme KENT CARTER, tout simplement. Il est disponible en version française et anglaise. La version anglaise a été traduite par mon ami Serge Rémy Sacré. Les deux versions du texte sont en “bonus” avec le téléchargement du CD en numérique sur Bandcamp, ou bien à l’adresse :

The Jean Lapouge/Kent Carter CD is an exact copy of the recordings made in Kent's studio in December 1994. I tell the story and more... in a text published in PDF A5 format (double page reading recommended). This text is simply called KENT CARTER. It is available in French and English. The English version was translated by my friend Serge Rémy Sacré. Both versions of the text are available as a "bonus" with the digital download of the CD on Bandcamp, or at:

Une très jolie curiosité, un enregistrement inédit du contrebassiste Kent Carter, longtemps associé à Steve Lacy, en duo avec le guitariste Jean Lapouge.
C’est un enregistrement qui date de 1994, qui a été fait dans le studio de Kent et ce qu’il y a de superbe, c’est que Jean Lapouge a écrit un texte sur les circonstances de cet enregistrement, une cinquantaine de pages, et c’est juste un bonheur de voir comment des musiciens ont pu produire une musique aussi solaire de manière aussi hasardeuse.
J’avais envie de vous faire écouter Madrilènes de Jean Lapouge à la guitare en duo avec la contrebasse de Kent Carter.

A very nice curiosity, a previously unreleased recording of bassist Kent Carter, long associated with Steve Lacy, in a duo with guitarist Jean Lapouge.
It's a recording from 1994, made in Kent's studio, and what's superb is that Jean Lapouge has written a text on the circumstances of this recording, about fifty pages, and it's just a joy to see how musicians could produce such solar music in such a hazardous way.
I wanted you to listen to Madrilènes by Jean Lapouge on guitar in duet with Kent Carter's double bass.

I feel like the COVID pandemic allowed/forced Dave to really think through and seriously polish his ideas. The songs here all feel so complete, sophisticated, and fully realized--moreso than the previous Manna / Mirage releases. While I've been loving these releases since 2015s Blue Dogs, this is the one I will be listening to the most ten years down the road. GREAT collaborations from all guests and great compositions/ideas from the playful brain of Dave Newhouse. Well done! wafiii
