No one does music quite like Camille and Xavier do. I see their music as being akin to soundtracks for unfilmed movies. In this instance it is a movie about explorers of mountainous terrain, perhaps the terrain of our lives. Merci pour cette musique si intrigante. :-)

This item was on my extensive wishlist for a long time, somewhere in the bottom half named "forgotten, not forlorn". When it recently appeared on Alan Benjamin's wishlist, I was reminded of this cruel fact. Actually, many of the fans I'm following on Bandcamp, renowned for their excellent taste in music, already purchased it long ago, which unmistakeably says something about the quality of this album. Moreover, it's from the Italian "AltrOck Productions" label, which offers a hefty catalog of superb releases. Should I write more? Well, yes, of course... Fans of complex 70's vintage music employing huge stacks of keyboards will have a lot of fun with this gem from France created by Fabrice Chouette, Patrick Dufour, and Frédéric Chaput. OK, this should suffice. Now listen... and buy...

I feel like the COVID pandemic allowed/forced Dave to really think through and seriously polish his ideas. The songs here all feel so complete, sophisticated, and fully realized--moreso than the previous Manna / Mirage releases. While I've been loving these releases since 2015s Blue Dogs, this is the one I will be listening to the most ten years down the road. GREAT collaborations from all guests and great compositions/ideas from the playful brain of Dave Newhouse. Well done!
